Denver Nuggets: 168 Punkte und doch kein Playoffteilnehmer - Reaktionen

The Nuggets set NBA season highs for points in a half with 84 and points in a game with a 168-116 rout of the Seattle SuperSonics on Sunday night. Denver set a franchise record for most points in a regulation game and fell just 16 points shy of the franchise record for points in a game. - nba.com
A lot of people are going to think it's a misprint. A lot of people will think there's no way they scored that many points. It's unbelievable. There are no words for it. [...] Like the Rockets winning 22 straight, it's unheard of on this level. Scoring 168 points in regulation is unheard of. Hopefully we can take what we did these last three games at home onto the road trip. - Kenyon Martin
Where's Gary Payton when you need him? - When the whistle blows
Marcus Camby had a triple double, notching 13 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. He also chipped in 4 blocks for good measure. You know you aren't having a good night when Marcus Camby drops 10 dimes on you. The 168 points were the third highest regulation output of all time. - Lionel McClure
There was no way that I couldn't enjoy the game, not from the way we played offensively. - George Karl
Wow...bummed I only got to watch the first half of this game. I wish we could parlay a few of those points into our upcoming games.
Where are all those Chucky haters now? Seems like his infusion has sparked the squad. Props to JR as well, I was hard on him earlier in the season but he's starting to play a smarter but still wild game of basketball. - Powder Blue
This Nuggets team may not make the playoffs (in fact, I think they won’t), but nobody’s ever questioned this team’s ability to put the ball in the basket, and tonight against the pitiful Sonics, they did so for the fourth-highest regulation point total in NBA history.
It figures – I finally find something positive that I actually want to write about, and I don’t have the words. This utterly unbelievable boxscore has reduced me to sputtering and pointing with a dropped jaw at numbers like 10 (assists(!) by Marcus Camby), 60.4 (percent shooting from the field), 44 (team assists), 8 (Nuggets in double figures), 49 (fast-break points, an NBA record), and, of course, the big fat 168 sitting at the top of the boxscore. - Dan Lucero
You know how there's all this talk about how, if the Sonics leave, the city could keep the franchise's records? We might want to set a cut-off date for that, because they are starting to set some records I don't think we want. - Enjoy the enjoyment
I've never been a part of a game like this where we won by so many points and scored so many points. This is definitely a game I'm going to keep in my archives. - Marcus Camby
