Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: so geht's Andrew Bynum
Ab sofort zählt kein Geringerer als Kareem Abdul-Jabbar zum Blog Squad von nba.com. In seinem Blog-Debüt äußert sich der ehemalige Megastar u. a. zum Zustand Andrew Bynums:
I don’t talk to the doctors, but I do know that the Lakers don’t want to push him too fast and have him come back and hurt himself and go back to square one. That is hard on everybody. His teammates want him back. He was such an asset to the team. Andrew wants to come back, but this is the time to be cautious. I have a lot of respect for the Lakers to take their time and make sure he can handle it and not let it develop into a problem long term.
That being said, Andrew is discouraged because this is the first time that it looks like we’ll get past the first round of the playoffs. Not being able to participate and do what he can do to make that happen really is hard on him. But he’s handling it. It’s part of the business that he’s in and just the fact that he knows everybody values his contributions is helping. He knows that whenever he does get ready, the spot will be sitting there waiting for him. They haven’t tried to dial up another person like him.
What I try to emphasize with him is the big picture. This playoff season is the first time he’s had a chance to see his team do very well, but we don’t want him to go out there and get hurt and never be able to contribute again.
Übersetzen lässt sich dies mit: Bynum wird gegen die Nuggets nicht spielen können.
